America250: 250 Acts of Community at Stony Point

In celebration of America250, Stony Point is committing to 250 Acts of Community. From May through September, every event will include one or more community-focused initiatives designed to inspire connection, generosity, and local impact.


May 16 | 11 AM–3 PM

Spring Festival & 250 Acts of Community Kickoff

Event Highlights

  • Vendors from RVA Black Farmers Market featuring arts, crafts, garden materials, and more
  • Face painting
  • Live music by The Kozy Cats
  • Collectors Train Show by The Train Depot
  • Train rides with the RVA Express
  • Live art demonstrations, wet painting sales, raffles, and more with DreamBig Artworks
  • Stilt walkers
  • Free line dancing with Urban Line Dance Museum (near Brooks Brothers)

Community Acts

  • FeedMore donation bin
  • 100 growable planter kits for kids and guests
  • 50 reusable Stony Point shopping bags
  • Sunshine Play gratitude letter-writing and kindness bracelet-making station
  • Big Bear Coin raffle: 5 tickets to the July 3 Treasure Cove event
  • Community Kindness Banner where guests can share acts of kindness; displayed through September for continued participation

May 17 | 1–4 PM

Community Tea Party with Queen’s Library Tea Room

Bring your own teacup and picnic blanket for this volunteer-powered, potluck-style gathering. Guests are encouraged to bring a dish, fresh flowers, or a talent to share. Queen’s Library Tea Room will provide tea and a commemorative teaspoon gift.

Community Acts

  • Kindness Card Station where guests can create notes for local nursing homes, teachers, and healthcare workers, delivered by Stony Point staff

June 16 | 8 AM

Walk With Ease

In partnership with Boss Lady Fitness and the Arthritis Foundation’s nationally recognized Walk With Ease program.

Beginning June 16, Stony Point will join the program every third Tuesday of the month, enhancing the existing weekly walking program with wellness experiences, community connection, and healthy habit-building.

Program Includes

  • Warm-up and cool-down exercises
  • Reflection time after each walk
  • Self-paced participation with certified walking coaches

  • Wellness giveaways, including 100 reusable hot & cold packs
  • Raffle prizes featuring:

June 19 | 5–7 PM

Juneteenth Concert & Community Market

Enjoy a live performance by JTucker & The Krewe, lawn games, food and drink specials, and a vendor market curated by MBL featuring Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists.

  • Cultural storytelling and personal reflections from band members on the significance of Juneteenth

June 20 | 9–10 AM

Adoptable Puppy Yoga with Richmond Ruff House

A heartwarming puppy yoga experience featuring adoptable dogs from Richmond Ruff House. Currently sold out – but you’re welcome to attend to watch the yoga, and cuddle with the pups afterwards!

  • Guided puppy yoga session
  • Puppy playtime and bonding opportunities
  • Puppy training tips from 2SpeakDog
  • Raffle for free puppy training classes
  • Complimentary adoption kit for guests who adopt a puppy at the event
  • Attendees must register, bring their own yoga mat, and sign a waiver upon arrival

  • Donation drive for dog toys benefiting Richmond Ruff House
  • Up to 15 adoption kits filled with essentials including toys, bowls, collars, and more

Red, White & Splash Bash

  • 250 Acts of Community balloon arch and photo station
  • Water-resistant face painting
  • Bubbles and music
  • Potato sack races on the green
  • King of Pops popsicles
  • Funnel Cake Recess treats
  • Nothing Bundt Cakes
  • Treasure Cove experience at Big Bear Coin
    • Free cold drinks and temporary tattoos
    • Gem & coin dig, seashell painting, and tie-dye tote activity

Bigger and better than ever!

  • Fire trucks, police vehicles, ambulances, recycling trucks, and more
  • Children’s Entrepreneur Market throughout the parking lot
  • Crafts with Richmond Library and Richmond Family Magazine
  • King of Pops, Funnel Cake Recess, and additional family activities

Community Acts

  • 50 free books for the first 50 children
  • 25 snack packs for first responders
  • Letters of Gratitude station for children to create notes for first responders
  • Children’s Entrepreneur Market supporting young local business owners
  • LemonAid stand supporting oncology and hematology services at Children’s Hospital of Richmond
