SOUTHERN KITCHEN RESTAURANT MOVING TO STONY POINT

 

RICHMOND, Va. – Southern Kitchen Restaurant, the local, woman-owned, and family-operated restaurant, has announced that it will be moving to Stony Point Fashion Park. This culinary gem will be a standout addition to Stony Point Fashion Park’s dining landscape, offering a unique and authentic Southern culinary experience, while adding a new cuisine to the mall’s diverse array of dining options. Founder, Chef, and Owner Shane Roberts-Thomas is relocating her southern concept to the center from the previous Jackson Ward location opened in 2019.  

 

Southern Kitchen Restaurant takes pride in its commitment to delivering the true essence of Southern cuisine. Inspired by traditional recipes passed down through Roberts-Thomas’ family, it features twists on southern favorites, including its famous southern style egg rolls, as well as more traditional favorites like shrimp and grits, and blackened catfish. The restaurant’s ambiance combines Southern charm with a touch of modern elegance, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meals.

Roberts-Thomas and Southern Kitchen Restaurant have been featured on national television, appearing on celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s hit show, “24 Hours to Hell and Back.” With Ramsay’s expertise, he and Roberts-Thomas worked together to transform Southern Kitchen Restaurant into a smash hit and fan favorite restaurant for the Richmond community. Roberts-Thomas also had the chance to show off her culinary skills, unique Southern flavors, and traditions on Food Network’s “Chopped,” where she showcased her ability to create extraordinary dishes under pressure.  

 

These appearances have garnered significant interest and media coverage for Southern Kitchen from local outlets. The local community has also recognized Southern Kitchen, awarding the restaurant on Open Table’s list for “Best of Richmond” in the Overall, Ambience, and Value categories.
